On May 25, 2023, a new software update for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom became available for download. If there is not enough system memory or microSD card storage to download the update, you will first need to expand or free up memory space and then follow the steps below.

The update will download and install automatically if the system is connected to the internet and the Auto-Update Software setting is enabled.

Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
